About Us

Loops for Life is a Cystic Fibrosis charity founded by kids for kids.  Our mission is dedicated to raising CF awareness and funding for CF research.  We partner with Friendly Loom Products of Harrisville Designs to provide potholder materials to schools.  Potholder creations allow children to discover the basic techniques of weaving.  It’s a quiet activity that encourages concentration and gives children a sense of accomplishment as they create their designs.  Weaving helps children understand spatial concepts while developing fine motor control and building self-confidence.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. More than ten million Americans are symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. Advances continue to be made in finding a cure, but your help is needed now-more than ever-to help keep up the momentum of this life-saving research.
When the Foundation began in 1955, most children with CF did not live to see their first day of elementary school. Today, the median life expectancy for people with CF is almost 37. This is remarkable progress, but not good enough. We continue to lose precious lives to CF every day.

How your donation will be used:
Nearly 90 cents of every dollar of Foundation revenue goes to support vital CF research, medical and education programs. That’s money well spent!

In addition to the fun of making potholders, students will learn about volunteer efforts.  The simple act of offering time, skills, and enthusiasm will positively impact the lives of others, as well as their own.
